Problems with Do Not Track @ Ticketmaster / LiveNation

"Will Do Not Track affect the rest of my Web experience?"

@ Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com users of "Do Not Track" in Firefox may be unable to search for tickets. Various error messages such as "Try again later" or 10 minute wait times are symptoms of this issue. Ticket search often will yield no results until "Do Not Track" is disabled.

Do you mean the built-in "Do not track" feature in the Options dialog, Privacy Panel? I haven't noticed that problem on Ticketmaster. The site is slow, and the CAPTCHAs are annoying, but I haven't been locked out.

When I look at TM's help on ads, it says:

"Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. These features are not yet uniform, so we are not currently set up to respond to those signals."

LiveNation says something similar:

"Our Site, whether accessed on a computer or a mobile device, is not at this time configured to read or respond to “do not track” settings or signals in your browser headings, which vary by browser provider."

Did you mean the Abine extensions Do Not Track Plus, Do Not Track Me, or Blur? Those work quite differently than the built-in feature.

The forum software detected your Firefox as version 31.0. Is that correct?

Version 31.0 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 37? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

If Help > About Firefox shows Firefox 37.0.1, you may need to clear the preference that is misreporting your version number. See: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.

Note: If you are using the ESR version of Firefox, then 31.6.0esr is the latest release in that series.
