Hi, since I updated to FF 29, my browser has gotten unbearably laggy/choppy. If I type, letters appear slower than I hit the keys, and if I move my mouse over a link it takes a second or two before the link overlay effect (underline, highlight etc) appears, same goes for all buttons, tabs, menus etc. If I enable hardware acceleration, the choppyness goes away, but I get a different problem in exchange. With hardware acceleration on, the text and sometimes images on my screen occasionally get really blurry. This does not happen with hardware acceleration off. How can I fix these or atleast one of these issues so I can comfortably use Firefox again?

Chosen solution

I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and
add-ons were changed / reset. Try this; Start Firefox in Safe Mode
While you are in safe mode;
Firefox Options > Advanced > General.
Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Then check ALL of your settings. Browser and add-ons. Then restart.

Thanks, that helped me pin point the cause to the theme I was using. Switched back to the default theme and it's running smooth again.

If you want, go the the theme's web page and use it to alert the creator. Good Luck.
