When I start Firefox, an android logo appears, and begins bugging me to load an android app on my mobile device. I don't have a mobile device, and I don't want this annoying thing on my Firefox startup page. I see that there is a suggestion that Firefox be "reset," but I'm concerned that resetting may cause loss of my menu items, bookmarks, etc., which took a long time to create.

Thank you for your answer. I haven't done this because I don't want to lose my apps, bookmarks, etc., which all took a long time to install. Can I reset the home pages without losing all of these?

yes of course - this won't change the other customizations you've made. just follow the "Restore the default home page" section in the help article i've linked to in my prior reply.
