With an older version, i was able to clear cookies after visiting secure sites(s) - now I can't find a way to do this. Please bring it back - I consider this to be extremely important for my security!

This is Privacy and security -> Browsing data -> Manage exceptions. There you can set cookies to be deleted after a session.

This is not about exceptions. It is about deleting selected cookies without wiping out the website so you have to go through the miserable login process again. Firefox has eliminated this ability by users for no reason at all. It wasn't hurting anything. It showed me the hundreds of third party sites that set cookies, and let me delete the ones I objected to without harming any other data. It used to appear on the page you cite, right below "Manage Exceptions." But in the new update: ("Same settings, new look") it has been deleted. Total lie from your friends at Firefox.

Wrong thread. This one is yours: support.mozilla.org/questions/1597837

(The above is the correct answer, that's the section for either removing, or changing behavior of storages.)
