After a couple of years just receiving emails on my phone, I decided to sort out how to send them. I see that the Thunderbird App can be installed simply by pointing phone at desk top screen QR code. I clicked onto Thunderbird Settings/Export for Mobile then clicked 'export' and got request for Username and Password, but have not got these to hand and don't know where to find them. Frequently when I hibernate my laptop firefox prevents its (as soon as it enters sleep it wakes up)

when I close firefox it hibernates fine

when I go to powercfg /REQUESTS its the audio card that is driving the wake up

In settings I have turned media.video-wakelock. to FALSE etc and firefox still wakes the computer

Yesterday I tried to update Firefox to 146.0, but the update failed, consistently. Here's what I did: Seeing the usual "There is a new update available"-pop up, I accepted. "About" screen came up. I clicked the button "update to 146.0", but no download started. I waited about 15 minutes, but still no download. I closed the window. Next, I tried the menu option: "Help->About Firefox". "About" screen came up. I clicked the button "update to 146.0". Same as above, no download.

Before anyone asks the obvious questions: Yes, I was connected to the internet the whole time. I checked that by calling up random pages. No, my firewall was not blocking Firefox. No, it was not just one quirky device. I tried it on laptop and desktop both. Yes, I did close and restart Firefox, I even rebooted the devices, and tried again. Same problem.

Now while my workaround (see below) helped, there is still the question of the update process failing in the first place. For me, that brings up two pressing issues at least: 1. Has anyone external tampered with the update process, maybe with malicious intent? It has happened to several software distributors, most recently the guy behind Notepad ++. 2. What happened to people relying on automatic (i.e. not prompting) updates? Did they even notice they were not being updated?

Not a solution, but a workaround: I synced all my setting to my Firefox-account (worked just fine, no problems), downloaded the newest installer, installed the new version on top of the old (worked like a charm), started new version, all just fine. I did not even need to sync my settings back, all was kept intact. Excellent!

there is a payment methods label in settings but thats is. its just a label under it immediately comes save addresses from other articles i can see that there should be a saved cards button but i have nothing why?

Hi there. The Netflix homepage is no longer displayed properly. Only the headlines are visible without the thumbnails (see screenshot 1). Netflix is properly displayed in screenshot 2 which was taken in an other browser. Can somebody please help me to solve this problem. Many thanks.

Another Windows update, another instance of Firefox bookmarks being inaccessible :-( "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." Now what? What are we supposed to do? Is Firefox doing anything about this problem, since it's become a regular occurrence? Help, please!

I tried logging into my account on a website. I decided to click on the passkey option to log in. Firefox had ask to access my passkeys and I mistakenly declined. But the pop-up doesn't happen again. It goes straight to "authentication failed" without trying to ask me again to access the passkeys. I don't see any setting for this in the settings page.

How do I change the permission to let Firefox access my passkeys? Or how do I make Firefox and Windows ask for my permission again?u I'd like to not have to reinstall Firefox if I could.

I am using Kubuntu 25.04. I tried support but the support in Firefox doesn't seem to have much help for OSes beyond Windows even though they make a native Linux version. I subscribe to several extensions and use Firefox sync to get the extensions onto a new computer but they don't automatically pin to the menu bar. I figured out how to do that once but I forgot how I did that and can't find it in help. Can someone please tell me how to do that. Mozilla, if you are reading this you might want to improve the support in your Linux version.

The last time Firefox updated I lost all my bookmarks. Tried using the restore tool and it didn't work. Tried restoring from my USB drive, didn't work either. Can you PLEASE help??

after the recent update I could no longer 'like' articles or comments on substack, and I couldn't post comments, either. looks as though there was a fix the next day, because I was again able to 'like' and comment...but then late that night I was suddenly back to square one. exactly the same issue. it's now been a couple of days and I still can't 'like' or comment on substack.

this same thing happened after an update many months ago, and after a week or two I just switched to opera. checked firefox again in september or october and it was working so I stayed. I'd like to keep using firefox but the substack problem is annoying. why did it work for about eight hours and then stop again? it seems as though substack is the poor step-child. hope you can get this fixed! because having to change browsers is also annoying...

My computer (pc-windows 10) keeps freezing. Today, when this happened I launched Task Manager and discovered Firefox had opened 68 instances (I had one window open) and was using up 100% of my Core i7 CPU. I was on YouTube at the time.

I'd like to stay with Firefox as I have been using it for years, but this is happening all too often. Is there a way to limit the number of instances that it will generate?
