Firefox just updated a few days ago to version 149.0. Prior to, no issues. Now every time I enter a search term and hit enter. A new tab opens and the page is blank. It only happened after the update. Closing the tab and doing the same thing again opens a new page correctly.

Sorry for that. Could you please try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode and see if the issue persists?

If the issue persists in Troubleshoot Mode, it's worth reporting on Bugzilla, Mozilla's bug tracker, so that the developers can take a look. Since I can't reproduce it, I'd greatly appreciate you filing a bug and sharing a link here.
