I was told my bank that there has been an issue with firefox since the last upgrade. I can sign into my account, but if I try to do anything or click on anything, the site locks up and I can not do anything except for sign out. They told me that it was on your end and that you needed customers to reach out. It's becoming frustrating that I can't use firefox for this application. I can get into my account and do what needs to be done with other browsers. What can you do on your end. The bank is Mission Federal Credit Union. Thank you! I look forward to hearing back with good news!

Hi

As a first step, I recommend that you check for updates to Firefox and make sure that you have a version higher than 128.0.3.

If having checked and applied any updates you still have this problem, it would be useful to understand what level of Enhanced Tracking Protection you have set and whether you have any add-ons installed.

I have the most current update 129 as of this morning. Tried to see if it fixed my problem with my online banking. It didn't fix the problem. I am able to sign into the account and see balances (same as before), but if I click on anything it locks up the website saying that is loading and I can't do anything including sign out. I have to click on the task bar in order to close the site. This is frustrating since I can use another browser without this problem. I was told by the bank that this incompatibility started with a previous update and other members have had the same problem. Any feedback or a quick fix on the Mozilla/Firefox end would be amazing! (and well, expected)

As you can imagine, it's hard to investigate this problem without an account. It sounds as though the bank's IT/support people may know what's going on and be able to submit a bug about it (at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/).

The issue Paul mentioned regarding Enhanced Tracking Protection affects sites that use multiple servers. For example, a bank's electronic access site typically is on a different server than its main www website. To ensure that Firefox can share your cookies across the various servers used by the bank, please try making an exception to the Enhanced Tracking Protection feature this way:

  • While on the first page, click the shield icon to the left of the lock icon in the address bar
  • On the drop-down panel, click the slider switch at the top to turn off ETF
  • Repeat on each new page of the site where the shield is not slashed through (the slash indicates that ETF is off)

Any improvement?

You can check for issues with Total Cookie Protection.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be careful. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works, you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

@jscher2000 No change. Nothing I have tried has worked. I waited to try things until the new update today. When I initially was told that they needed us to let Mozilla Firefox know that there was a problem. This is what they(the bank) were told when they contacted Mozilla with the problem their customers were having. This problem has been going on for over a month or two. It is taking too much of my time personally. It'd be great if this can be reported and taken care of. It is not on the bank's end. I am just trying to make a complaint here so something will be done about it since it is on Mozilla's end. Will mention the bugzilla to the bank when I speak to them next. Perhaps it is time to try a different browser for all my needs and to tell the bank to tell their customers the same since there is no easy way to have this problem brought to the attention of someone who can actually do something about it. I am not the only one who is having this problem. Argh!

I followed ischer2000's advice, and at first it didn't work, however it led me to figure out that it was only when using a "private window" that it didn't work. When I logged out and went out of the private window and logged back in without a private window, it then decided to work. Thank you for sending me in the right direction. I am 81 years old and I never even heard of a television until I was 7. I have skills for tasks that no longer exist, but am having trouble keeping up with all the new technology, and nobody explains any of it and it never comes with a manual anymore. I am upset with the lack of any real support from Firefox and am considering giving it up and going with Chrome or something. The volunteer helpers are great, but the company itself is failing it's members.
