Lost all tabs after factory reset on phone
Recently had to get my phone repaired and did a backup beforehand (and Firefox sync was on) but when I restored my data Firefox was empty, all tabs gone. Is there any way to get them back? And if not, any way to prevent this in the future? (I did look into my history, there are no previous tabs closed)
Thank you in advance!

FYI... SYNC IS NOT A DATA BACKUP SERVICE Sync info... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-choose-what-information-sync-firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/sync/ https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/11/firefox-sync-privacy/ Sync is not a backup tool but it is a good sync/transfer/move tool https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/707681
Sorry, if your data is not on another device, then it's GAME OVER.
None of your data came back, or bookmarks/history came back but not open tabs?
Do you have a desktop computer (PC, Mac, Linux) with Firefox installed and signed in to your Mozilla account? In that case, you could try this:
Install the About Sync add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/about-sync/
After you install the add-on, you can type or paste about:sync in the address bar and press Enter to load it. The page shows each category of data currently found in the Sync cloud.
The tabs section, Records object tab, should show lists of tabs from all recently connected devices. Is the "old" Firefox for Android listed here?
