messages pop up, 3 at a time, showing from Mozilla Firefox: - system alert click okp4 ......, 3 viruses, click to remove etc etc see attached screen shot. Is this legit? I doubt it. How to stop them popping up?

This looks to be Web Push Notifications from websites you have allowed to send you notifications. Unfortunately some sites may send fake virus or antivirus client alerts and such. You can revoke web push notifications from specific sites.
