Why can't I access my email account after restoring Firefox to factory issue?

I'd been experiencing slowness and crashing with Firefox. When help recommended restoring the browser to factory issue, I decided to do so. I can now no longer access my verizon yahoo! email account. No prior issues. I'm now asked to provide my Yahoo! ID and password, which I did; however, the system will not accept it. Please help!!! TIA for any/all suggestions to try.

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
