Bookmarks Not Working

All bookmarks I have tried to use just sit there and do nothing. Does not matter whether I use the listings down the left side of screen or I use the under the URL entry line. I have to type url or go to google and search for the address I want.

Do you use any third party "system cleaning" utility like CCleaner or System Mechanic?

I do use System Mechanic.

System Mechanic is unfortunately known to cause bookmarks and history corruption and data loss: support.mozilla.org/questions/1273954

There are steps how to check and repair the database integrity in: support.mozilla.org/questions/1577698 — if that doesn't work you might have success restoring bookmarks from an older backup that's saved automatically over time.
