I'm assuming the virus alerts are notifications sent by suspicious websites through Firefox. It would be helpful if you can provide a screenshot to confirm this. If so:

Firefox Settings -> Permissions -> Notifications -> 1) Block new requests asking to allow notifications and 2) remove any websites in the list that you do not recognize.
