Still can't sync outlook outgoing mail with thunderbird, i receive emails just fine but still cannot send them

Heros

Yes, this outlook account was made earlier this year. I've tried all of the "fixes" offered on here and across the internet. I'm changed to to password and got the app password. I've deleted 2FA to see if that would work. I've deleted the Oauth key and it refreshed to a new one. I've done it all and TB-sync is not available to me cus apparently now i'm right outside the app version limit.... how convenient. It's very frustrating as i really like the app and still use it to read my emails but it's very annoying to have to open the outlook app and go through all that just to send an email. I keep getting told it is possible, i've been battling this on and off for months. I cant just get a new email either as i already swapped everything to the outlook one and my work using out look as well. i am able to sync my calendar even but apparently just not my outgoing emails. I would like to transfer my email but the other email i have is a proton email and they are a whole other headache. Please help.

OS: Linux / Android

TB Version: 156.0

Current Outgoing Server Setup:

Server Name: smtp-mail.outlook.com Port: 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Auth Method: OAuth2 Username: *****@outlook.com

Try setting smtp server to smtp.office365.com. I'm no outlook guru, but that's what I use.

unfortunately no :( i had tried taht before as well but was hoping with the new update maybe it was a good workaround now. I wish i could get TB sync :/

What exactly are you trying to do?:

Still can't sync outlook outgoing mail with thunderbird,

and

still cannot send them

Two entirely different things. That is like saying your mailman walks past your house and no mail appears on your kitchen table. Ignoring the note he left on the front door telling you that you have no mailbox for him to put mail in.

Then you talk of the operating system being Android/Linux. They are not interchangeable there is a Thunderbird version for Android and another for Linux so which is it? I am guessing it might be Linux as you are interacting with the forum software using a Linux system using X11. But let's be clear here. Instead of me or anyone else assuming just tell us. What version of Thunderbird are you actually using and where did you get it?

156 is the release version, but it is also released as Thunderbird mobile in the following formats Binary (.apk),Google Play (Beta),F-Droid (Beta) as well as Flathub and Snap versions in addition to the native distribution specific packages for Linux. None of them are created the same. I see lots of those using ubuntu and it's derivatives that are struggling with the adoption of the SNAP packages by cannonical they run in a sandbox and permissions issues are the order of the day.

I'm changed to to password and got the app password.

That would be redundant if you are using oauth authentication as you say. The initial authentication to allow oAuth works exactly the same as a normal webpage login, so you would use exactly the same tools. Once oauth is setup you don't use a password and Thunderbird does not even have it.

Have you read the relevant support articles. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202 and importantly https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tb-custom-oauth as most of that is about getting Microsoft's rather odd implementation of oAuth to work.

If you can not send mail you will be receiving an error message about that, Perhaps you could share it o we don't continue to guess about what the problem might be.

You might also want to review this article. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-send-messages

You probably also need to become familiar with what synchronization is ion terms of email, because your question conflates sending mail and synchronization, so please see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/imap-synchronization
