hanen_217, sometimes Windows will keepp some user data after a reset, depending on the options chosen. This might be in the (possibly hidden) directory "C:\Windows.old".

I am not familiar with the reset / reformat processes of other operating systems.

But if the data is not recoverable via Firefox Sync, then it might be worth checking whether the method that you used to reformat or reset your OS would have included a data backup?

(Yes that is probably a longshot as you used the term "reformat" rather than reset or refresh, but it is all I can think of.)

The recovery method depends on where the passwords were originally saved. If they were stored in a browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) and synced to a cloud account before formatting, signing back into the same account should restore them.

If syncing was disabled, incomplete, or the browser data was overwritten during the reinstall, recovery becomes more difficult. In that case, check for any old browser profile backups, exported password files, or system backups.

If important data was lost during formatting, a data recovery tool such as Kernel Windows Data Recovery may help recover browser profile files and other lost data, provided the affected drive sectors have not been overwritten.
