cannot connect to btinternet.com server for Thunderbird email
'Login to server mail.btinternet.com with username cmby2@btinternet.com failed.' This dialog box appears when Thunderbird is opened, we cannot remember our password as it has not been required before, can you help with this please? P We are tech dummies...

Try this:
- go to TB menu > Settings > General
- scroll all the way down and click the 'Config editor' button on the right
- click 'Accept the risk and continue' if that appears
- search for mailnews.oauth.usePrivateBrowser > change the value to true
- restart TB
