deleted mail from in box
Why when I delete an unwanted email from inbox the adjoining email below also goes to trash?

A threaded view is a way to show conversations. See here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/message-threading-thunderbird
In list view, you will see a little arrow in the top message of a conversation. I don't think that there is a similar indicator of threads in cards view. Another indicator in both views is the View menu (or film roll button) > Sort by > Threaded (see it is checked).
The top message represents that individual message *and* the whole threaded conversation, so deleting it deletes all the messages in the conversation.
