Login fails for Thunderbird

I've been using Thunderbird for years to access my gmail account through my ieee alias. Sometime after 4/2/2025 my login fails with the message "Login to server imap.googlemail.com....failed". I've tried changing the imap server to "imap.gmail.com" but get similar results. For some reason, it appears that something changed on 4/3 that prevents a successful login to the gmail server from Tbird. I have both Tbird and gmail configured for OAuth2. Update: As it turns out, following the steps in this link resolves the issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1375558
