Firefox Sync: Overwrites old data, need help to fresh sync

When I sync my Firefox account, my old data, themes, and add-ons come back. There are add-ons, themes, passwords, and usernames from 3-4 years ago that I no longer use. How can I reset my sync data and sync again? In short, there is an 'overwrite' situation; the old data remains while the new data is synced over it.

Change your sync/Firefox password and logout of all other Desktop and devices and login with the new password. This should in theory reset your sync data. Also read the Firefox help on sync as well. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox/backup-recovery-and-sync/sync-data

This solution works but its clear all Sync, Passwords/Bookmarks/Addons etc... Before you do that I suggest do some steps :')

Step 1: Go "about:profiles" and create new profile Step 2: Locate your default profile and copy this folder profile to different Drive / Disk / Location

Also dont forget do same thing \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Cuz I lost mine :')

I can try but doesn't the sync stay on the cloud?

Yes but if password change so does the info and it gets replaced. But you need to logoff all devices for this change to happen as well.

Ehm, Its worked yeah but all of my passwords, bookmarks gone now 🥹
