Received notice today that my email addy is on the dark web which explains the recent emails asking for my personal info. 

I'm starting w/thunderbird... please a step by step instruction... I'm 75 yrs old & not a puter expert .. please.

Next , I'll change my internet provider password.

If you need to change your email password, you need to go to your email provider's online web login and change it there. Then, the next time you run Thunderbird, it should report incorrect password and prompt for the new one.
