I'm using Tbird 102.9.0 on Linux Mint v20. After a few days of running I cannot move messages from the inbox to any other folder. Closing Tbird and re-opening does not work. I tried RMB-Move To, file menu Message-Move To, and drag-n-drop, none of those works.

After a few tries to move messages from the inbox to other folders fails, I can no longer delete messages from the inbox, and the message view pane does not update when I click on a different message in the inbox. If I close Tbird and re-open, these functions work again.

Any idea how I can fix issues with the subject and other fields displaying an unreadable font? If I highlight the areas, the font is readable and sometimes it is fine. See attached example - subject line should read: "Use Color-Changing Sequins to Tell Time"

Hello, Talktalk changed the settings for my emails on Thunderbird, which were changed successfully except for gmail. I receive them ok, so the incoming settings are good, but can't work out the outgoing settings - see settings below. My ISP is Talktalk.net. I use a MacBook Pro, Operating system: MacOS Catalina 10.15.7, Thunderbird version: 102.9.0. Many thanks.

New unread emails are not highlighted on my PC. Deleted emails are not to be found in trash folder. These changes appeared a few days ago. Thunderbird 102.9.1 (64-bit)

Using Thunderbird 102.9.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. New emails are bold. When I double click on an email to read it, in the list it sometimes goes to normal (not bold) and sometimes remains bold.

I want to have my messages sorted according to date. As you can see in the attached screendump I am not successful in this undertaking. How do I get a proper sorting by date? Thanks in advance for any tip H Thunderbird 102.9.0 (64-bitar) on Ubuntu 22.04

I've read all the solutions to Thunderbird not remembering passwords and all of them require accessing the Options menu. Problem is that it doesn't exist on my installation and there is no "options" under the MENU button either. See screenshot. If I go to MENU/Settings and then click on "Saved Passwords" it shows a blank form, even though I've logged into and attempted to save the password many times. See SavedLogins.jpg.

Here's the history of this installation under Windows 10, 64 bit. For a decade I was using Eudora then Eudora OSE, which was really a version of Thunderbird. About 4 years ago, I converted it to Thunderbird. Password saving worked fine but TB couldn't read web pages in messages.

About a year ago, I made a new installation of TB which fixed the web access problem, but password saving didn't work and that's the state I'm in now.

My email provider is Earthlink. The Message Storage local directory for the 3 accounts are at D:\Eudora(Thunderbird)Mail\Mail\pop.earthlink.net D:\Eudora(Thunderbird)Mail\Mail\pop.earthlink-2.net D:\Eudora(Thunderbird)Mail\Mail\pop.earthlink-3.net

Something in Thunderbird is pointing at the wrong location for stored passwords, because when I tell TB to save the password, it puts it in WRITE ONLY MEMORY! Please help!

Over the last 10 days, Yahoo messages won't download to thunderbird; the problem goes away for a while but then recurs. this time it has been over 24 hours. I can send messages from Thunderbird, and can see messages on my webmail and mail app.. I'm using an iMac with OS 10.12.6

ESMTP error has been temporarily unavailable for a few days. I have been asked for a password and used my comcast password. Is there something I should be doing? I receive emails through Thunderbird but cannot send or forward. Everything works from my iphone and the xfinity website.

I have Thunderbird 102.9.0. I can't edit an address book entry. I am trying to add another email address for a particular entry. Save does not work, it does not save the edit. If you can't provide a fix, how do I go back to a previous version just within Firefox?

I hate it when updates break things. And now it wants to do another update. Your updates are too frequent. You need to vet them better before releasing.

Version 102.9.0+Build1 according to Ubuntu Software (I can't find a version number on the working application)

Save file has stopped asking for save location. This is enabled in my settings. I get the message "Exported 1 of 1" at the bottom of the screen but I can't find the copy and I can't specify where it should be save/exported to.

It worked fine last week - has a new upgrade been installed automatically???

Hi,

I have a supplier who has started sending invoices as attachments with the wrong Content-Type.

Instead of:

Content-Type: application/pdf; name="test.pdf"

they send

Content-Type: test.pdf

My problem is, I can't open these files in any program. I have to save it first, and then open it in a pdf reader via a filemanager.

This only happens with the above content type.

When running thunderbird from the terminal and watchting the output, the following message appears when I select a pdf program to open the file in:

I am really upset, because the spell check drives me to complete madness!! I am living in Sweden and most of my texts written in Thunderbird are in Swedish. Since some time ago the spell check is set default in English, so when I start typing all is marked with red!! Then I have to change to Swedish, because the English seems to be set as default. How in heck can I change that default setting to Swedish?? Do I need to skip Thunderbird and seek another program??

There is a small subset of senders, all of whom seem to be sending e-mail via ActiveCampaign Mailer (activehosted.com) for which I have a problem. When I view the e-mails from them in Thunderbird, I see only a tiny bit of text -- the full graphical content of the e-mail has disappeared (really all of the content, there is no alt-text for the images, just 2 lines of vestigial text). I **only** have this problem when viewing the e-mails in Thunderbird. When I view these e-mails in my ISP's webmail tool, everything is intact. Only when the mail gets downloaded into Thunderbird does the problem occur.

I have already tried disabling my BitDefender anti-spam and that doesn't help.

The e-mail headers of the truncated e-mail in Thunderbird are exactly the same as those on the intact e-mail in the webmail tool (when BitDefender is disabled).

Why is Thunderbird doing this? How can I stop it?

Whenever I am trying to search emails using a Quick Filter 'Body' search for some abbreviation, I get many more than expected results

eg I am searching for '8CU, I find emails that do NOT have the text '8CU' in the body but in the base64 encoding of an attached file:

Is there a way too make it skip searching for text in base64 encodings or similar hashes? Often the search results are still too many and I have to visually pare down the results

After upgrading to v. 102, Thunderbird could no longer write to the mailbox, and I had difficulty determining the cause. It turns out that using the Spambayes mail proxy was the culprit. Bypassing the proxy and changing server settings to that of the mail provider allowed me to download email, but I wanted to proxy to work again.

Searching further turned up this link: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1789314 Setting "mailnews.pop3.jsmodule" to false fixes my problem, but the problem must not be identical to that of Bug 1789314 because it is marked as resolved as of TB 102.3 and not requiring the workaround. I am using 102.9, and the workaround is most definitely still needed.

on a regular basis for no apparent reason my email address will disappear from thunderbird and all of my emails it will only show a folder with no email address. the email address is still in settings. my fix has been to delete the email address and then reinstall the email address. this bring back the address and the emails Can anyone suggest what the issue may be and a possible permanent fix. thank you Paul

Hello, Using Thunderbird (v102.9.0). Using Tools > Export. Says if profile is more than 2gb do not use. I ran it and it produced a zip file of 2.9GB but no warning or error message. Should it produce a warning/error message?

My aim is to save the email of three years ago (all but some folders) and then remove from the server (i use IMAP, Thunderbird 102.7.1 on Ubuntu).

I was a long time user of the Evolution mail client and I was used to programmatically (python script at bash level) to create a directory with a lot of mbox files (one for each mail folder), then I archived it in a DVD.

I use Thunderbird in two accounts plus the local-folders, so pressing "archive" in thousands of different mail is not feasible.

I'm looking for a solution that take the starting date, the final date, and the list the folder involved (or the ones to skip): is there a function, a sequence of commands, or an add-on to do that?
