Hi...Since this last update, I have lost all my subfolders. I found them, I cannot remember where and tried copying them into different folders and rebooting Thunderbird but they are still missing from the left pane. Adding to my confusion is that now I have both a pop3 account and an IMAP account showing...I am wondering if someone can offer a simple solution to this problem. I have looked on the forums, but some of the solutions confuse me. So the simpler the better, if possible. Thank you so much. T.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 w/ Thunderbird v 102.4.2

I am trying to export my address books in vcf/vcard format. The articles I have read on the internet say to select Tools => Address Book and then choose "Export" from the menu tabs, then choose csv or vcf or whatever format to export into. My main problem is that there is NO "Export" tab on the address book menu. It does have an "import" tab, however.

Extra Data in profile

I have been running Thunderbird 2 (yes 2!) for years. I recently created a new Thunderbird program (using 60.9.1 for now - yes old but slowly upgrading) and I have two issues. Put the profile in xxx\Thunderbird60 and copied over data from old installation so mail etc is the same under test.

However, when I run TB60 everything comes up fine. BUT. When I look in profile folder it has pulled in data from one of my many Firefox profiles! In the TB profile are files like favicon.sqlite, cookies.sqlite, places.sqlite plus many other Firefox files. looks like from the 105ESR Firefox.

Has anyone any clue as to how these are getting there? Delete them and recopied over when TB runs.

Very annoying as do not want FF data mixed up with TB.


Lastly, is there any plans to fix the bug in later TB that does NOT allow a single inbox? The one reason I still use TB2 is that I have around 30 email boxes to regularly poll and do not want 30 accounts showing in the list!

I am on version 102.5.0 (64bit). I use Thunderbird to access my Charter email and my gmail accounts. I am unable to send email from my Charter account, but my gmail account works okay. This has been happening for a couple days. I was using a POP server on the 32 bit version of TB. I did a little research and thought maybe updating to an IMAP server would work. It doesn't. My settings look like they are what Charter expects. Server: mobile.charter.net. Connection security: SLS/TLS. Authentication: Normal password. When I try to send a message, it looks like it is sending, but it hangs there until I cancel. (On the POP server, I got a "Sender rejected" message.) I can send email through Charter's interface and through the Mail app on my iPad.

Hey there, I updated thunderbird some while ago to 102.5.0 (32-Bit). After some time, I noticed that I don't get my any contacts from my address book shown in the recipient field of my new mail window.

Does anyone have an idea what happened? I changed nothing in my settings, and it worked before the update.

I have been using Thunderbird as my email client for many years with Charter/Spectrum. Recently I have hit a problem about sending mail and Spectrum support has not been helpful ("We don't support 3rd party clients").

Basically I can no longer send outgoing email using Thunderbird on any of my Charter/Spectrum email accounts.

I have no problem receiving incoming email on any of these accounts.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated. . .I would rather not give up my Thunderbird email (I'd opt for a new internet provider instead).

Running Win 10 (22H2) and Thunderbird 102.5.0 (32 bit).

Adding Yahoo to email, POP server. Using recommended server configurations. When clicked on DONE, a popup browser from Yahoo occurs with username filled in, then asks to prove not a robot (captcha), then asks for password. Finally agree for Thunderbird to access Yahoo email. Goes to check login and after some time presents the message "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." Repeated attemps goes through the cycle of the popup from Yahoo to give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email.

An email is sent by Yahoo indicating a sign in on Thunderbird. Clicked on Advanced settings to save settings. When click on Get Messages the Yahoo popup appears the give Thunderbird access to Yahoo email. This is repeated every time for Get Messages. Email at Yahoo says sign on Thunderbird has accurred.

No messages are ever dowloaded to Thunderbird. Yahoo seems to know an attempt was made to sign on to Yahoo with Thunderbird but Yahoo does not accept credentials to download the emails to Thunderbird.

What other settings need to be checked to make this work.

I am using TB 102.5.0 and have successfully created several accounts. However, when editing the SMTP Server settings, the Oauth2 option is not shown in the Authentication Method list.

One gmail account was automatically configured for Oauth2 for the SMTP server when the account was created, but if a new gmail server is added to the SMTP list, the option is not available.

Cookies are enabled for websites.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.

I have all of my contacts in Thunderbird via integration with Google Contacts. My contacts are also synched with the native contacts in my iPhone and iPad. It used to work perfectly and automatically sync and everything. For some reason, it no longer suggests email addresses from my contacts as I type-in email addresses in the TO, CC or BCC line. Does anybody out there know how I can get this working again?? Thanks much!

I wanted to know if the updates to a specific RSS folder can be paused, no matter what. I find getting updates to a specific folder even after pausing. And there is no Unpause or something in the context menu of that folder. I doubt whether this feature works at all!!

I generally get updates by pressing Shift + F5.

One of our users, cannot receive or send emails. Getting error ""NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource" (this error shows at the bottom of the Thunderbird email client). Her Thunderbird email client was recently automatically updated to the latest version 102.5.0 via an update schedule in a package deployment software (PDQ). Since the version was updated, the user is receiving this error. The previous version that worked was 102.4.2(also installed via PDQ). Checked the server and account settings in user Thunderbird and everything settings wise are the same as before. Thinking the Thunderbird client could be blocked, I tried to allow the Thunderbird app in the user local Windows Firewall settings and tried turning off the local firewall but no difference. I tried to uninstall and reinstall ver 102.5.0 but no change. Tried to reinstall the last version that worked in 102.4.2 but same results. Even tried to install a much older version 78.1.1 just for grins but it gave me a message since her profile had been updated to use a newer version so installing older version would not work I since reinstalled 102.5.0 back on the user computer. Besides the Thunderbird auto updated to ver 102.5.0, the only other changes on the user computer were 3 new windows updates that installed on her computer on 11/18/22 (KB5019959, KB5020613, Servicing Stack 10.0.19041.2180). Tried to uninstall the KB5019959 but haven't try uninstalling the 2 other windows updates. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

For the past few days I've noticed emails opened on new tab have the heading but the content was blank. I've just tried searching for an important travel document that I had received and the search result came up with blank content also. It was then that I realised ALL emails beyone the last few days have now gone. I looked in the profile folder and it's a small size, ie less than 32mb. I do have a backup from 12 months ago, which I tried to import and the messages from the backup don't show up either. It's like I didn't import them at all. We're having a few difficulties here, with family members health etc, and my head is already spinning, so this is something I don't need at this time, as you can imagine.

  I think it's started happening in one of the latest release. 

I have a few email rules for incoming mails. Emails are moved to folders with option: "mark as read".

In the past, that icon never showed up for those emails. Now every time mails are moved and marked "read" that icon pops up. I never now whether it is something new that doesn't follow any rule or something under the rules and have to click folders to make it disappear.
