After updating my Mac to Snow Leopard, some webpages in Firefox look very strange and unreadable. Why
The same thing accures when I use Safari 5.1.2. Most of the letters are mixed together or new inventions.

What you can try doing is clearing Firefox's cache: How to clear the cache.
If that does not work, try starting Firefox in Safe Mode. That will help eliminate the possibility of some sort of extension messing with your webpages.
You can also read Websites look wrong, which has a list of other solutions is those two don't work.
You can do a check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues:

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).
