When I go on the internet all sites are redirected to some advertisement. I do I get back to normal searching?

In recent days I notice that all my searches are redirected to some advertisement and not the site I clicked on. I'm trying to get rid of this annoying problem. What should I do?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

So far I ran superantispy, emisoft anitspyware, spybot search and destroy, malwarebytes and my anti virus sophos. None the less the problem persists. What else can I do?
