Cannot play http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/13937280.stm in Firefox or IE9 but fine in Opera and Chrome. WHY?

I cannot play http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/13937280.stm in Firefox or IE9 but it plays fine in Opera or Google Chrome. I have downloaded the update for Adobe flashplayer 10, isolated extensions and plugins but no success. This is a problem just in the last few days - I have run Firefox for a very long while with no problem.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
