Firefox is permanently stuck in safe mode. I have tried everything that is recommended. Help!
For wwhatever reason my computer indicated that I was in safemode for firefox. I have tried all the options. I have read the recommendations and followed them but the program remains in safemode.

Firefox 4 starts in Save mode if the Shift key is pressed and you click the desktop shortcut or if you use a shortcut key that only has a Shift key modifier.
If the latter applies then use a keyboard shortcut that uses other modifier keys like Ctrl or Alt in addition to the Shift key.

You you mean that you get the Safe mode window with the choices or do you mean that you can't make changes to prefs or install extensions ?

I had this problem and seem to have just fixed it. Delete the desktop short cut and the short cut in the start menu. Don't worry, this won't delete it from your computer. Now, go to your desktop and right click your desktop. Go to New, then click Shortcut. A menu will come up, then click browse. Click My Computer, Local Disk (C:), Program Files, Mozilla Firefox folder, then click firefox with the little icon next to it. This will give you a new short cut for firefox and it won't be in safe mode.
If the problem continues after taken all the above actions about the shortcuts, then the problem lies on your keyboard! Try a different keyboard or clean thoroughly the one you already have. Think if any liquids spilled on your keyboard recently. Cheers

If you have bought recently a new cheap keyboard that is the problem - at least that was my own problem which i finally fixed by this means.
I had the same problem and I think I solved it. The only thing that is different in save mode is that extensions and moduls aren't allowed. So why not to allow them? Go to tools then to add-ons and there you should find a list of extensions and moduls. Allow them all. I did it and now everything works normal. Try that...(and sorry for my English)
Frankly, I have no idea what you are talking about with a shortcut. I originally tried Safe Mode in order to solve a problem but the next time that Firefox opened, I had an expectation that Safe Mode would be history. That is not the case. 1. First, I just opened Firefox & naively expected it would be normal opening 2. Next, I read that instead of using icon on list of often used programs, used the icon from All Programs, found FF in list and clicked that-still in SM 3. Somewhere I saw in video a really simple fix-to use the Alt key-not solution 4. I have restarted my PC 3 times and opened FF in various ways-none work to change from SM 5. I will close PC and leave it overnight, not that I think it will make a difference but I wish I knew what shortcut you reference-is there one to switch to SM? In all the years I've used FF, I've never had reason to consider it but all of my toolbar buttons suddenly disappeared and it's driving me crazy so I read that this might help so I tried it but what a mistake! This is a mess and I really need help badly. I'm going to be looking for what you mean by shortcut because I don't have a clue what that is. Where do I find these?
