I switched to Firefox from ie8 and I had adobe reader already installed and Firefox won't recognize it.Ii tried to re-load it but Adobe says that Firefox is supposed to have a button marked "edit options" but i cannot find it.

See opening PDF files within Firefox. Your list of plugins shows Adobe PDF version 9.3.2, so Firefox does know you have it installed.

You can ignore those instructions from Adobe and save the Adobe Reader installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.
