USe of VPN Beta
I am really excited by the possibility of a built in VPN on Firefox.
However I logged in to UK BBC Channel 5 and tried to view a programme,
I was able to browse content but as soon as I pressed Play for the first series of the drama the provider picked up that I was using a VPN and shut me down.
Is this a teething problem ans will it likely be fixed?

Hi Bill
Not quite sure what the problem is here. If you were using a VPN at the time, it sounds like everything was working correctly.
Thanks for the reply.
Yes the VPN is in one respect working but surely as my location was set to UK I should have been able to watch the programme.
Attached is the error message from the Channel.
It does not look like they support people being able to view their content using a VPN.
So I guess the answer is unfortunately that the BBC software at this time is smarter than the current Mozilla VPN. However having been with Mozilla since Netscape and being confident with the products I am sure they will fix it. Early days!
Hi
This does not seem to be an issue with the BBC, but is something that the Channel 5 support team should be able to help you with.

"Mozilla VPN" refers to the standalone subscription based Mozilla VPN app https://vpn.mozilla.org and not the built-in VPN in desktop Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/built-in-vpn
