Slow Message Update when Inbox is selected

Downloading messages is now noticeably slower on an older desktop if the 'Inbox' folder is selected/focus. If focus is changed to a different folder (i.e. 'Sent') the message downloads become blazing fast.

Deleting messages seems slower as well and I think it is related. May involve inserting/deleting entries in the grid.

Older desktop meaning your Windows 11 Thunderbird 140.12.0esr 64-bit? Try the Inbox with View > Toolbars > Menu Bar unchecked. Better?

Thanks for the reply.

With it on or off it does seem to have no noticeable effect.

Windows 11 Pro 25H2

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz (3.41 GHz)

140.12.0esr (64-bit)

I offloaded all the emails into an archive folder. This also had no noticeable effect. Having coded VB using a grid many years ago, the lag is likely coming from the iterative steps needed to populate each email.
