サンダーバードで受信は出来ますが、送信ができなくなりました。 「メッセージを宗しおんできませんでした。 送信（SMTP）サーバー******に接続できなかったため、メッセージを送信できませんでした。サーバーが利用できないか、SMTP接続が拒否された可能性があります。送信（SMTP）サーバーの設定が正しいか確認し、再度試してください。」と表示されます。SMTPサーバーを編集してみましたが治りません。どうすれば良いですか？

My provider changed from q.com email to myctl.net email. I was using outlook but it wasn't downloading new emails. They are on provider web mail. When I downloaded Thunderbird it asked about importing from Outlook and I did. Now it is trying to download the 36,000 emails on the server site and going very slowly and I can't open the ones it has downloaded, I think because it was sent to q.com. Can i uninstall Thunderbird and then set it up again without importing anything?

My email was originally set up with Brighthouse which was acquired by Spectrum. My email address has a cfl.rr.com extension. Because of a hard disk problem, I had to reload Thunderbird. Spectrum is still maintaining the old Brighthouse accounts but support is extremely limited.

I can now get into my account in Spectrum's email and can send and receive email there. I had to use a password I set up for Spectrum to do that. But Thunderbird will not recognize my cfl.rr.com account. I can import that account into Outlook and Gmail, but not Thunderbird. It appears to me that Thunderbird is looking for a password that Outlook and Gmail don't require. If I had an old Thunderbird or cfl.rr.com password I have lost it.

I prefer Thunderbird, and I need to get my address book and history files back. I have just set up a new email account in Gmail and imported it into Thunderbird. Is there a way I can I recover my old address book and history files? I do have all the old Thunderbird files that I backed up before I had to reload Thunderbird.

I have been using Thunderbird with two POP3 Hotmail accounts for some time and I am trying to set up a third account with exactly the same configuration. However, both the automatic and the manual configurations failed. The new account receives mail, but the outgoing smtp server config seems to have a problem. Sending messages times out or keeps prompting for a new password.

The Hotmail account has POP3 and IMAP enabled. Thunderbird is set to receive all cookies. I cleared history and cache after every attempt and also temporarily disabled the firewall.

Any suggestions about what the problem could be?

Hi, I'm tring to rearrange the order of my email accounts in the left hand pane. The FAQ says sandwich icon -> account settings -> move them around in the desired order. This looks OK in the account settings list when I do that, but when I close it, the accounts order is as before, and this order shows up again when I re-open the account settings list. Is there any way to make this "stick"? Do I need to click some hidden Confirm button? Many thanks in advance!

I have a lot of message filters that I've created over the years to filter out SPAM (as well as other more positive purposes like sorting mail to specific folders). I'd like to clean out the ones that are obsolete.

If I choose Tools > Message Filters, I get a display window on the screen with some of my message filters shown. But the reason it's "some" is that the top and bottom of the window are well off the screen display. I can double click on a Filter and edit its details and I can delete a filter by pressing the delete key. But I can't scroll through the list. Any filters that are out of range are not accessible.

Is this a bug I need to report? Or am I missing something?

I have three outlook.com email accounts configured. Two accounts open to show all subscribed folders. One account shows the account name only, but no folders.

Activity manager shows: "The current operation on 'Outbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account wasaga72@outlook.com responded: Command Error. 12"

Sometimes all folders show. Sometimes all folders show after a delay.

Tried: 1 deleting all .msf files. 2 removing and re-adding the account

My wife and I both have identical Laptops with the same three outlook.com accounts. Mine using version 148.0.1 (64-bit), hers using 140.8.0 esr (64-bit) both have the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated,

The University of Minnesota makes me change my password for their email IMAP server every year. I use Thunderbird as my email client. I have not had problems in the past, but this time Thunderbird does not connect with the UofM server and I cannot update Thunderbird with my new password. When Thunderbird tries to connect, I get a Google "help" message about clearing my Chrome cache that does nothing. I deleted the old IMAP password in Thunderbird, but that did no good. Is there a way to update my credentials within Thunderbird?

When I send a mail with FileLink, I get the message: "The message could not be sent. An error occurred while sending the email. The server responded with: “Spam message rejected.” Please check the message and try again." (actually, in French: "L’envoi du message a échoué. Une erreur est survenue lors de l’envoi de l’e-mail. Le serveur a répondu : Spam message rejected. Veuillez vérifier le message et essayer à nouveau.")

I made different tests:

• change email source (so, change SMTP server): it worked - but I do not want to change the standard SMTP server of the initial email address
• after the first error, the attached file, which is a shortcut to the big file, can be suppressed, and not the link in the body of the message ; sending the message is accepted

So, I suspect the spam filter to refuse the "attached shortcut".

The question: Is there a way to configure the FileLink feature so that it does not attach a file, but just add the link the body of the message?' Or are there other neat workarounds?'

I have been using Thunderbird for a fairly long time and have several email accounts in it. Today, I noticed that one of my accounts seems to be filtering the messages for one type of message. When I login to the email account directly, I see all of the messages. I don't have any filters set - none of the filter buttons are on, there is no filter in the filter text box and there are no filters in Tools->Message Filters.

ThB & cPanel filters (a) don't catch all SPAM and (b) send legitimate mail to the Junk folder. Together, the 2 problems cause a large amount of work. Because of (b), I must regularly go through the Junk folder. Because of (a), the Junk folder contains a huge number of messages. (a) Messages from serial spammers trying to spoof Costco, Marriott, AAA, Blue Cross, etc. that I have flagged as SPAM dozens of times IN ALL THEIR VARIATIONS, still appear both in the Junk folder and in the Inbox (including messages with the red SPAM marker turned on, which to remove from the Inbox I must first click to mark them as non-S{AM, then click again to mark them as SPAM). (b) Messages from senders who have sent hundreds of messages before that have gotten through and who are in my contacts list regularly and in significant numbers end up in the Junk folder. I tried to set up filters in Spam Assassin. They made no difference. I tried to set up e-mail filters in cPanel, which entirely removed messages before they even reached ThB. These were quite effective, but although I created them very carefully using regex to capture every variation of COSTCO spelled with Os and 9s, etc., they also ended up removing legitimate messages (and none of my senders mentions AAA or BlueCross in their messages). I really have no clue how to proceed. None of the advice that AI or ISP support provided helped. Thank you for taking the time.

Thunderbird causes my machine to 'hang' from time to time, often for up to a second and usually a number of times in quick succession on each ocasion. Sometimes this happens frequently - say every 5 or 10 minutes - sometimes only after an hour or more since the past occurrance. My machine hangs completely - nothing will work, mouse, keyboard, sound, other apps etc. If I happen to be typing (into any app - including Thunderbird - when this happens, input ceases, the cursor freezes and - if the problem persists for a second or two, Windows reports "[app] is not responding" I cannot be certain, but I believe the problem occurs whilst messages are being retrieved.

This is a very serious problem as it means that I can never leave TB running as the problems it causes are not acceptable. This means I cannot deal with incoming messages without periodically re-starting TB - which is an utter PIA.

I am running Win 11 Professional on a 2-year old machine with 64 Gb of memory. I have run TB in Troubleshoot mode, I have confirmed that the problem occurs regardless or whatever other apps are running (or none) and I have proven conclusively that no other app causes any kind of similar problem.

Looking forward yto hearing if others have had the same issue and what can be done about it.

I just installed thunderbird for the first time and i really liked it but there is a problem some of my emails particularly from from Fiverr don't show Fiverr logo at the top within the email maybe that logo has linked wrapped in it on which i can click and it take me directly to my fiverr profile. These are official emails from fiverr. What i have tried: I tried every possible solution that i can get on internet. Show Remote content turning on and off, Turing Simplified view on and off. Turning of the Proxy from auto detect and Turning the DNS off. Fiddling around view settings. Changing settings in Configuration like mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image, browser.opaqueResponseBlocking.javascriptValidator, browser.opaqueResponseBlocking, etc. But it didn't load the logo image and keep showing broken image place holder. This is also the case with my bank mail, my bank email sometime have an image with warning about OTPs not just text it also don't load. I also tried disabling the spam protection and i only use minimize to tray extension which i disabled to check if image loads or not ans tried to run it in Troubleshoot mode but no luck. I will really appreciate If anyone could help me and fixed the issue . :)

Hi, Address Book Search doesn't show any results for example Phone Numbers or Addresses.

Search for Phone Number 030 shows: No contacts found - which is not true! Search for Address City Berlin shows: No contacts found - which is not true!

Please improve the search, so that it considers any contact detail.

I accidently unsubscribed my current calendar. It does not list anymore, I do not know how to list unsubscribed calendars. How to re-subscribe it? (Window 11 w/latest Thunderbird). thanks very much.

When Thunderbird injects a link preview into a message, it changes the text composition from Body Text (my norm and default) to Paragraph. This styling change persists even after I delete what look like the entire preview.

My fix for the current message is to select all and reestablish Body Text, then clean up left over mess.

My overall fix is to uncheck Settings > Composition > Add link previews when pasting URLs

Clearly HTML is required to create a graphic preview box in a message. I do not recall having turned link preview on to begin with, so I'm feeling opted in. Do Thunderbird updates download with this option turned off? ___

Another reason I eshew link previews is that they appear to establish connections to online assets without asking. How is this safe? As a software developer - and simply as a user - I have occasion to send people links that I don't want to connect with. To pick an easy edge case, what if I'm reporting a phishing or malware site? Just because I type or paste an URL into an email message doesn't mean I want to download anything from that source.

Curmudgery aside, I'm grateful for your help as always. Paul
