Why isn't thinderbird compatible with simple pop3?
I was working with my own simple pop3 test server and noticed thunderbird also K-9 and even Gmail seem to send some unstandard commands to the server causing an error. FairEmail however works fine. The server is a simple pop3 for local testing can anybody explain why your email clients are not compatible with pop3 standards perhapse how you deviated from the standard?

Hi G
Although an older protocol, both TB & K9 apps have many users connecting to their mail provider successfully using pop3. The app however does not support oAuth authentication with pop3. Account or app password is normally required. See github ticket #9094
For specific queries regarding the apps pop3 implementation, try posting an issue on Thunderbird for Android's github page where developers may be able to answer directly. If you have android development knowledge, the code is open source and can be reviewed there.

"unstandard commands" is incredibly vague.
