I am trying to add a new identity, I already have 3, so perhaps there is a limit? I have created the identity under manage identities with no problems. However, the new identity does not appear in Thunderbird, where the others are. The address is not recognized, and does not receive emails. I feel like I have missed a fundamental step but have followed the help instructions & cannot see what I am doing wrong. Ive checked and the program is up to date. I want to move email messages around in local folders, but "move" doesn't show even when enabled in settings when the account is POP3

However when using IMAP it is worse as the App keeps messing not only with the server messages an folders, but also with other devices.

Assistance with Read Receipt and Delivery Status Notification

Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to read my email.

I have been trying to determine why I do not receive read receipts after selecting Return Receipt and Delivery Status Notification under the Options tab when sending emails. This has been an ongoing issue for more than 10 years.

I am currently using Thunderbird version 152.0 on one computer and 140.10.2 ESR (32-bit) on another. Despite trying numerous settings and troubleshooting steps over the years, I have never been able to receive a read receipt.

I would be truly grateful if you could guide me in the right direction or let me know if there is a setting I may have overlooked. If there are any troubleshooting steps or additional information you need from me, I would be happy to provide it.

When preparing an email and leaving the TB window, it saves a copy to the Draft folder. It should delete this email in drafts after it is sent. Instead, TB creates multiple entries in the Drafts everytime going out and back in TB.

Is there a setting to change to stop this behaviour

Hi All,

I have a Galaxy S22 running android 16 and have been getting the standard email notifications for each of my inboxes.

Recently I get a duplicate notification appear for a new email almost immediately after I clear the notifications screen or swipe it away.

I was hoping an update would solve the issue but I updated it once since it began but the issue remains. I have done all the basic troubleshooting steps like cleared cache, stopped app, restarted device etc. but nothing seems to work.

I havent uninstalled the app yet because I didnt want to risk losing anything important, but if thats the next logical step aside from a configuration change I will do it as these notifications are becoming rather annoying. Help please!

I have default send from address as john@mydomain.com. When i press new message or hit reply , from is john@mydomain. 

With catch all setup, some email would be addressed email1@mydomain.com, email2@mydomain etc...

Is it possible than when i hit reply button on email, the from address would be set to "to" address of email i'm replying to ( for example email1@mydomain.com), instead of sender defined in account settings?

Neither my wife nor I can access email on our respective PCs. This has been the case for four weeks. We can access email by our Android phones, but we really want to use our PCs. I've tried to resolve the problem and failed. Previous to this failure, I had an account with BT but this was transferred to EE. When I attempt to log in to my mail account, I receive the message "Could not connect ... :the connection was refused". I can also add is that in my Account settings, Outgoing Mail server I see a message "Connection to server mail.btinternet.com:465 failed."

I tried to connect my user on my Online Accounts on Linux Mint, but it said: Authentication Failed, so i tried to open my accounts and send a message to myself. The message is sent and it appears a little window that says: Your Messages was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can try or save the messages locally to Local Folders/Sent-(my e-mail name).

Same happens with Troubleshoot Mode and I don't think it's a connection error, so what is the file access error in here?

I received a spam message this morning that had a "Disposition-Notification-To" (aka Read Receipt) line that had MY email address on it. I honestly don't know why a spammer would do this - but that's not the issue. I have Read Receipts disabled, but Thunderbird generated an email (to me) and sent it to my mail host. This seems like a bug. Even if the Read Receipt has my email address on it (making it mostly harmless), Thunderbird shouldn't have generated the message. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

I am running 152.0 (aarch64) on MacOS Tahoe.

I have noticed lately that Sent mail is often marked as unread. I can mark the folder read, yes, but I am wondering whether this is a bug or a feature. If it's a feature, I don't understand the benefit.

But specifically, I believe the bug/feature may be isolated to mail you send to yourself. I often will send myself reminders or links for later perusal, and I believe this may be part of the issue I'm identifying.

The presumption being if I sent a message, I have read it and therefore marking it unread isn't really useful.

Anyone notice this, and am I missing something (like a setting)?
