THunderbird problems with Virgin Media
I have used Thunderbird for as long as I can remember but recently there have been a few occasions when I cannot send emails . Either the send box comes up with the blue line fully to the right OR it keeps asking me for a password (which I enter) but it wont send). Then a few days later all is ok. This is very frustrating and as much as I want to keep thunderbird if it is becomeing unreliable then I have to look at options (which I dont want to do). I have not altered any settings since it last worked ok. HELP PLEASEPLEASE!!! Thanks, R.

Generally when thing sometime work and sometime don't with sending mail it comes down to the antivirus product in use having crashed in the background and it only restarts after you restart your computer. Email scanning is very problematical and on sent mail really quite useless.
Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. I have tried disabling Anti Virus and all associated firewall etc and problem persists. I have tried on off/restart/start in safe mode etc etc and probvlem persists. BUT I fully expect that it will resolve by itself in a day or two and then happen again. I have suspicion that Virgin Media are doing something to disrupt this as although their webssite did say it supports thunderbird , when I spoke to them they just blew me off.
Any other ideas and have you had others in UK have this issue? Thanks R
