Firefox not saving scroll position in reader mode

more options

So I usually read long books that are only divided in chapters online, so no page numbers, using the reader mode in dark mode to make it nicer to read. The problem is that it does not save where I stopped on the page last time while reading like firefox used to as far as I remember. This makes things annoying as I need to remember and find where I stopped reading. Again, long browser pages with no page numbers to remember. I don't even close the pages on my phone and it happens both when I close the browser or just minimize it. I remember that it used to save it without problems. Is this a bug or just a removed feature? Hopefully someone here can help as I didn't find anything helpful via google. If there are more details neededI will add them on request.

Hi

You may wish to try the Mozilla Pocket service, that allows you to share articles to an app optimised for a good online or offline reading experiance.

Hi

Sadly it seems Pocket does not play well with DDoS protection, as it is stuck on:

"Checking your browser before accessing This process is automatic. Your browser will redirect to your requested content shortly.

Please allow up to 5 seconds…

DDoS protection by Cloudflare"

Maybe I'll find a workaround or maybe someone knows one. Thanks for the idea though! It work on another of the websites I use without Cloudflare.

You should be able to download Pocket from the Google Play store and then share articles from Firefox for Android to it.

I did. It shows the cloudflare message inside the app.

Do you have a link to the article that you are trying to read?

Hello

Unfortunately most of the articles/books for my work need a login.

That is going to make it very tricky for me to replicate the issue and try to find a solution for you.

Indeed. Only other site I noticed that has the same problem is for more leisure reading hah. It's when I click on any story on https://m.fanfiction.net/ . But only once I actually save the story page to Pocket. If I just save the front page nothing unusual happens. If I navigate to a story it gets stuck on the DDoS protection no matter if I save the front page and then navigate to the story or just straight up save the story page.
