Please assist. Windows 7. Logging into my Gmail account fails due to some change Googlemail made. I get the following response when entering my password: Sending of password for user ee.scheffler@gmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.googlemail.com responded: Application-specific password required: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833 No other options offered at this point, only to re-enter my password (which fails again). I do not know how to proceed to get around the problem.

Solved! I managed to turn off the wretched 2-step.

The problem isn't having 2-step verification, it's the authentication method in TB that is wrong.
