I have received a signed email from a DoD sender in TB v115.5.1. The S/MIME icon states the Digital Signature is Not Valid (png below), consequently, the cert was not imported into the TB Certificate Manager. I have updated the DoD Root Certificates, and ensured that the most commonly used DoD Root certs and Email certs have trust settings that identify web sites and mail users (add'l png examples). I cannot examine the cert I received in TB, although I seem to recall I could by clicking on the icon in earlier versions of TB.

How can I: 1) Identify the certificate authorities for the invalid cert to ensure they are trusted? 2) Examine and import the certificate from the user? This is not unique to a single user, it happens with DoD emails whose certs were not already in my Certificate Manager, and the organization I commonly communicate with is changing everyone's email, so everyone is getting new certs. This prevents me from sending encrypted emails to the recipients.

Ever since I decided to have a password to use thunderbird I do not receive any messages for alan.green27@ntlworld.com even when I am told that a code has been sent there. Why are they being blocked? I do get messages for leananger27@gmail.com which is not the lead e-mail.

Hello,

I'm new to Thunderbird and I was checking out the features of the Thunderbird app on my Windows 11 PC. I'd like to understand somethings with the passwords feature.

I see that the password of the added email account in the 'Saved Password' dialog box at Settings > Privacy & Security > Passwords, when shown is displayed as a long coded line, rather than the actual account's password.

Q1. Could you please let me know that is this done as a format to encode the original password?

It seems the app itself automatically does this, as I checked with this 2 times, by deleting the password and again approving the 2FA login credential when re=validating my email account.

Q2. I would also like to know that what is the real point of not displaying the actual password to the user when the 'Show Passwords' button is clicked?

Q3. Can you please let me know if there's some reason as to not having it display as masked characters representing the actual email account's password which authenticates with the email provider server, like many of the other email applications have it?

I'm in the UK, I've been forwarding all my junk email to The National Cyber Security Centre,

https://www.gov.uk/report-suspicious-emails-websites-phishing

I've put their reporting email address into my contacts and have been manually forwarding each junk email as it arrives, they're happy to accept anything suspicious, they say send as much as you like!

https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams/report-scam-email

"If you have received an email which you’re not quite sure about, forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk Forward us as many suspicious emails as you like. Send us emails that feel suspicious, even if you're not certain they're a scam - we can check."

the combination of adding each junk mail senders address to the 'block sender and domain' list in Outlook, plus forwarding each junk mail to the NCSC seems to have completely killed my junk mail problem,

what I'd like to know is: if there is a way of setting up items that arrive in the junk mail folder to automatically forward to this address, or: could a feature be added to Thunderbird where you could set up automatic forwarding of junk, a box where you fill in the appropriate reporting address for your region/country?

Currently running Windows 10 and Thunderbird 115.5.0 (64-bit). All new email coming into my Thunderbird inbox from my gmail account is being marked as Spam, red flame. But is left in the inbox. Earlier in the day I went to Tools > Settings > Privacy & Security and selected "Reset Training Data" thinking that might be how/why things were getting marked as spam. Several hours later I have 7 new messages, all marked as spam. I to Gmail's web interface and the messages are all there and none are marked as spam. I checked the Log of Junk mail and I do not see any of the subject lines there.

Running Win 10 with Thunderbird 115.5.0 (64-bit) I've an issue with ALL new messages suddenly getting marked as junk in my inbox (red flame) but not being moved. They are NOT junk. So, I went through some old messages and they suggested Resetting Adaptive Junk Filter logging. I did that. There was also a note to clear the filter logging. When I open the log I have stuff back to 2018. Pressing clear log does nothing. A help suggestion was to mark all and press delete. Still nothing happens. I'd like to get rid of this huge log file and see what/why my emails are getting marked as junk.
