Persistant caching problem

My website was moved but Firefox won't accept the new address, substituting the old one instead, which of course leads nowhere. Chrome and Safari don't have this problem. This isn't the first such problem I've had with Firefox. I don't want to do a wholesale cache reset.

OK-- replying to my own question. I looked up caching in preferences and found you can easily remove the cache for a particular website. Once I'd removed it the website responded perfectly without redirecting itself. So, sorry if I've wasted anybody's time. Insert embarrassed icon here.

Note that you can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Note that you can't remove the cache only for a specific host (origin) unless Firefox has started to support this, so it is possible that you cleared the full cache if this is about the cache and not about cookies or other site data.
