When i want to open a link, using open in new tab. I do not want to be redirected to the new tab instantly. If I am opening multiple links or website. I don't want to be going back and forth between tabs. I tried about:config adjusting the inback features, but that is not working.

Could you send answer to Carlborne@aol.com

You can hold Ctrl and left-click the link or middle-click the link to open the link in a new tab. The setting in Options/Preferences determines whether you switch to the tab or open the link in the background. You can reverse this behavior by additionally holding down the Shift key (Ctrl + Shift + left-click or Shift + middle-click).

  • Options/Preferences -> General -> Tabs -> When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately

See also these prefs on the about:config page.

  • browser.tabs.loadInBackground (normal links)
  • browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground (javascript)
  • browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground (bookmarks)
