Firefox Private Network VPN is not working.

When I click on the VPN Icon in the Windows Notification Tray next to the clock, the VPN Icon disappears.

Next, I went to the Start Menu and clicked on Firefox Private Network Icon in Program, instead of opening it, the Icon re-appeared in the Notification Tray. When I click on the Icon once again, it disappears.

So, the VPN is not working and I am not able to access the settings as the Icon disappears every time I click on it.

P.S. I have tried to ask this question in a Private Message from accounts.firefox.com/support for the past 48 hours or so, but every time I click "send," I receive this message:

"Hmm, we're having trouble with our system. We're working on fixing it for you and apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later."

Chosen solution

I'd uninstall again and go to your hidden AppData folder (is User > AppData (which is hidden, you need to check the box to show hidden folders) > Local > Mozilla) then remove the FirefoxPrivateNetworkVPN folder as that folder isn't removed when you uninstall.

then try reinstalling. sorry for the annoyance.

Do you have any non windows firewalls or other VPNs installed recently? We found that additional VPNs can conflict with the FPN and cause issues.

I would completely uninstall it and reinstall it from a fresh download, something might've gotten broken in the installation process

Hello Eve... Thank you for your response.

The VPN had been working for over a month just fine. Then suddenly, I started having these issues.

Also, I uninstalled the one that was giving me problems, went to Mozilla's download page and downloaded it again. When I re-installed it, it still didn't work and the Icon still disappears when I click, or hover my mouse over it.

It worked! The VPN is up and running and I am able to click on it to access the settings.

Thank you for your help, Eve. I really appreciate it.
