My hard drive gave up so I have a new computer. Cannot figure out how to get the most visited link back. None of the suggestions work for me. Is it gone from the most recent version of Firefox?

Chosen solution

Firefox no longer creates these default smart folders, so you need to create them yourself.

Do you know how to create a new bookmark?

You can right-click on the Bookmarks Toolbar and click "New Bookmark" to open the dialog to create a new bookmark. You can type Most Visited in the Name field and paste place:sort=8&maxResults=10 in the Location field to enter the specific values for this folder. Click OK to confirm the new bookmark. If you close and restart Firefox then this bookmark should behave like the Most Visited folder.

This bookmark is a so called smart bookmark that shows the result of a query.

You can create a new bookmark with this name and location. the maxResults parameter sets the number of results to show in the list

  • Name: Most Visited
  • Location: place:sort=8&maxResults=10

Close and restart Firefox to make this bookmark work as a smart folder.
