How do you resize the cache in Firefox? With the new update I no longer see that option.

In earlier versions of Firefox, in the options area, there was a place to limit cache size to whatever you wanted. I no longer see this option and I would like to be able to do this. It makes Firefox run faster and limits the writes to my Hard Drive.

Chosen solution

There are still browser.cache.* prefs that you can modify directly on the about:config page.

  • browser.cache.disk.capacity

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Hi, default is still 350megs. You are correct you can not resize it that I know of.

I suggest you make your feelings known here about that and to make suggestions which will be reviewed by a team. 3 Bar Menu --> Help --> Submit Feedback

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thank you Cor-el and Pkshadow for your help in this matter. I was able to modify it in the about:config menu and it seems to be faster now that I've limited the cache size.

I would like to see this as a menu item in Firefox's Options in the future. It was much more convenient when it used to be there.

Once again thank you very much.
