Computers aren't so bad. They just speak obscure languages.

I'm not an expert on this, but IMAP synchronizes folders with an on-line site.

On the other hand, POP3, which I use, keeps everything on my machine. I know that IMAP synchronization problems happen with some regularity, but since I don't use IMAP, I'm not familiar with them in any detail.

If you don't need to synchronize to the Fog, you might consider re-configuring to POP3. If you do that, the file sychronization issues should go away.
