On top right of my Firefox Browser, there is a red circle (opened slightly on top of circle) with a red shape in the center of it. There is a yellow triangle on the bottom of that circle with a black exclamation point in it. When I hove my mouse over it there is what appears to be chinese language that shows up. I have right clicked and removed it from the toolbar but it remains on the toolbar. What is this, and how to I get rid of it?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
