Your Mozilla account lets you access Mozilla Services on any device by simply signing in. With a Mozilla account and Firefox Sync, you can get all your bookmarks, passwords, open tabs and more. Protect your account with recovery information, backup sign-in methods, and account recovery options to help you sign in if:
- You forget your password
- You lose your device
- Your account is hacked

Set up a secondary email address
Mozilla accounts will let you add a secondary email address as a backup in case you lose access to your primary email address. To learn how, see Add a secondary email address to Mozilla accounts.
Choose an email address that:
- You use regularly
- Is different from the one you use to sign in to your Mozilla account
Set up an account recovery key
You can use an account recovery key to sign in to your Mozilla account to regain access to your data in case you forget your password. See Reset your Mozilla account password with Recovery Keys for details.

Set up a passkey
A passkey gives you another way to sign in to your Mozilla account without entering your password. Passkeys use your device's built-in authentication methods, such as a fingerprint, face recognition, PIN, or hardware security key.
Adding a passkey can help you regain access to your account if:
- You forget your password
- You lose access to one sign-in method
- You want an additional secure way to sign in
To create a passkey:
- Sign in to your Mozilla account.

Enable two-step authentication
Prevent someone else from signing in by requiring a unique code only you can access. To learn how, see Set up two-factor authentication on your Mozilla account.
Sync logins in Firefox desktop
Enable logins sync on Firefox desktop, so you can access your logins across other synced devices. For more information, see How to perform Sync on Firefox desktop.
Sign in with a one-time email code
Mozilla account supports a passwordless sign-in option for selected services. Instead of entering a password, you can use a one-time code sent to your email address. Passwordless login cannot be used for Firefox Sync. Sync requires a password because it uses end-to-end encryption to protect your data.
