I used to push the "+" for a new tab it used to show me all my most used sites, but now it just comes up with an AVG search engine, and i can't change it. I have never used AVG before in my life so I don't know why it all of a sudden changed to that. I have also tried to do the browser.newtab.url and change it to about:newtab, but according to that site, my tabs are still set at the default, but that default has just recently changed. I would really like to get back the multiple tabs again. Also, when I open another window, my setting are how I want them, but which ever tab is the oldest one opened it is the one that doesn't follow the settings that I have applied to it

Note that your System Details List shows a disabled AVG extension, so it is possible that other AVG software is active in the background and is causing this issue.

  • AVG SafeGuard toolbar 18.0.5.292 (avg@toolbar) (Inactive)

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
