Not able to send mail
Suddenly was unable to send mail on either of my laptops. I have uninstall and reinstalled Thunderbird and windows. All of the SMTP setting are correct. I have tried different combinations of settings but no luck. I have tried every fix on the internet. I am using Spectrum (TWC) for internet. I talked to them but got nowhere. I've used Thunderbird for years and have donated to keep it going. I really like it and don't want to change. Hope you have a way to get me going again. Thanks, Mike

Please quote any error messages you see, precisely and in full.
What are your server settings, both incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP)?
There seems to be big problems going on at Spectrum/Charter/TWC. Neither mail.twc.com (TWC's email servers) or mobile.charter.net (Spectrum and Charter's servers) appear to be online right now and may have been down for some time. It does not appear to be a Thunderbird issue.
I'm looking into it and will report back later with what I find.

I am having a similar issue - despite all settings being correct I cannot send from an MSOffice based email address via smtp-mail.outlook.com or smtp.office365.com. While Thunderbird says I have successfully established a secure connection - the message "Login to server smtp-mail.outlook.com with username xxxxxx@xxxxxx.com failed." appears when attempting to send.
