Just updated Firefox now cannot lof in to banking web site
Firefox has just updated on my Windows 11 PC at around 1100 17/06/2026 and now I cannot access my Spanish banking online with Banco Sabadell.
When I try to log in I get a message saying 'the process cannot proceed because of security issues.'
I could log in prior to the update and I can still log in using Brave.
By process of elimination I deduced that it must be something to do with the update.

This bank uses Akamai/Edgesuite for security and content delivery, which has been known to be causing issues to users all the time:( Are there e.g. any extensions you can try disabling? https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1581128
I'd normally start with a "clean slate" for the site, either by going into Private Window and signing in from there, or seeing if clicking the shield icon next to the location bar and "Clear cookies and site data" does anything in terms of how they fingerprint you over time.
The more involved but significant steps are first restarting into Troubleshooter Mode or creating a separate testing Profile to see how the existing setup impacts that.
The steps to go through are from the easier to the complex ones:
- Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield
icon in the left part of the address bar.
- If ETP is enabled, try disabling it.
- If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache.
- If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
- If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
- If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.
