Sending of the message failed. ... Relay access denied.
I have just set up Thunderbird on a new Windows 11 PC. So far as I can tell I have filled in the server details correctly. I can receive incoming mail. However, it fails to send emails out - I have tried a couple which I know are correct. Error message is: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <<snip>>: Relay access denied.
Please check the message recipient "<snip>" and try again.
(I've removed the actual mail address from the error message.) I've read the answers to previous versions of this query and made the correction as suggested. This hasn't helped. Any suggestions please? Many thanks, Roger Moore

'Relay' is commonly used in error messages where the sending email address (i.e., SMTP server) is not the same as the account's email address.
