I use my bookmarks to keep track of fanfiction I want to read on archiveofourown.org. The site features a 'history' section itself. Recently I noticed that stories I've bookmarked say that I've visited them way more than I have. The 'How many times you've visited this page' ranges between 30 and 500 times for each story, when I've only actually clicked on them once myself as I bookmarked them. Is firefox constantly opening/pinging my bookmarks and is that what is being reflected on archiveofourown.org? Thanks!
