Firefox 57 Desktop memory useage
Hi Have been running the beta version of Quantum for a while and naturally upgraded to 57 yesterday, but now am having some serious issues. Running 7/8 tabs (normally one ebay, one facebook and one youtube plus seversl forums and google searches) and my memory useage is vast. Initially over all the firefox processes in task manager its around 1gb, but over a matter of minutes climbs steadily. I have seen it up around 5/6/7gb! Any ideas on the potential issue? Cheers Andrew

Hi skip94
I no ideas on the potential issue. I run Firefox 57 on Android 4.1, 4.4, 5, 6, 7, 8 on a variety of Google and Samsung phones without seeing these issues but that doesn't mean there isn't one of course :-)
Please help us help you by answering the following:
- What version of Android OS are you using? (I assume this question was asked using Firefox for Android 56 instead of 57 because of the memory issues you are having with FF for Android 56, or are is your issue with using Firefox for Desktop e.g. Windows, Mac and Linux?
- What phone are you using? (or computer)
- Have you tried disabling / and or removing all Firefox for Android add-ons? (or Firefox desktop addons)
- Could you please tell us what you did, what you expected, what happened in as much detail as you can?
Cheers! ...Roland
Hi Roland. Please accept my apologies, I have no idea how this ended up in the Android section, I didn't notice a way to change where it was posted to. It must have detected that I was posting from my phone, rather than my laptop. Is it possible to move this to the correct section, as its actually on W7 that I'm having issues. Sorry again Andrew
Hi Andrew
No problem I moved your question over to Firefox Desktop.
Cheers!

Hi Andrew
- Firefox safe mode might help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode
- Also if you know how to do a backup, do a full Windows backup and then try Firefox Refresh: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
If the above doesn't help, it would still be helpful to know:
- What computer are you using Windows 7 on ?
- Have you tried disabling / and or removing all Firefox add-ons
- Could you please tell us what you did, what you expected, what happened in as much detail as you can?
Cheers again!
