Videos simultaneously playing twice side by side on everywhere but youtube. Help?

Whenever I watch videos on anything but youtube, it will split the screen in two and play the video twice, side by side (which then shrinks and lengthens the video in order to fit it twice, very hard to try paying attention to one side). Even when on full screen. I'm a real computer novice, so very clear step by step instructions on what I could try to fix this would be great. Sorry. I've tried looking for solutions but failed miserably. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but trying to watch anything is sending my eyes funny trying to focus...

That is very very odd.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Problem still there :(

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

After finding out what a safe website is, they seem to work. It's sites with the grey world instead of a padlock that seem to be the ones with problems. Suppose I'll just live with it. Thanks for your time

Please post the links where you are having problems.

Others have now decided to sort themselves, but here's a couple that are doubling.. http://boredomtherapy.com/fox-and-cockroach/ http://boredomtherapy.com/horse-jumps-fence/ I apologise for the silliness of them...

I checked those videos. Wow!

There was nothing wrong with them. So it's something on your system.

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337 See also:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check for issues caused by plugins and set plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page.

FredMcD thanks for trying :) cor-el, none of that worked either. Most videos are now playing okay. I guess I can deal with the odd one being funny... Thanks for trying
