Downloads will not down load, or open having serious issues and have no idea what is wrong. I also am having trouble with java, I need a updated version but the old one will not delete because it can not find file so I can not open new version

does the open/save window hang and then you cannot do anything on FF apar from pressing alt + ctrl + del ? it is happening to me quite often since about ten days ago. still don't know the reason

No I can save file but then have to retry to scan it then I get like a shaded gray open instead of the black open I do not know why this is all of a sudden acting up, it is frustrating !! I need to get stuff for school and I just can't get things to work.
